Walmart Will Test a Standalone Health Clinic in Georgia
Walmart is pushing further into primary care, taking on established healthcare companies and leveraging its big advantage: existing store visits. About 140 million people visit Walmart stores every week, and the retailer employs about 1.5 million people in the U.S.
The new Walmart Health clinic will open in Dallas, Georgia, in a building next door to the Walmart store. The first appointments are available on September 13, and they range from routine medical visits to mental health sessions. If the test is successful, more Walmart Health clinics could be opening in the future.
“Walmart is committed to making healthcare more affordable and accessible for customers in the communities we serve,” the representative said. “The new Walmart Health center in our Dallas, Georgia, store will provide low, transparent pricing for key health services for local customers. We look forward to sharing more details when the facility opens next month.”
