Walmart Waives Rent for In-Store Partners, Pays Suppliers Faster

Walmart is taking steps to relieve some of the pain the coronavirus is causing for its in-store partners and suppliers. The retailer is coming to the aid of the more than 10,000 businesses who serve customers in Supercenters and Sam’s Clubs by waiving rent for the month of April. In addition, Walmart is making changes to ensure that qualifying suppliers are paid more quickly for their products.

“More than two-thirds of our 18,000 suppliers are small and medium sized businesses who could benefit from this newly enhanced program,” the company said.
