Walmart Takes Aim at Amazon’s Overwhelming Selection
Amazon’s huge selection could be costing it sales when it comes to everyday items. Shoppers may feel overwhelmed and frustrated as they sort through thousands of options and reviews. Walmart is looking to make its stores more appealing on this very score, reducing its number of SKUs in order to avoid “decision fatigue” among shoppers.
Walmart U.S. President and CEO John Furner told NRF attendees that the company is focusing on a “simplification of the product line with a significant reduction in SKUs which it feels will cut down on decision fatigue for shoppers.”
