Walmart Increasing ‘Returnship’ Program for Those Coming Back to Workforce
Walmart announced it would triple the number of slots in its returnship program to accept up to 100 participants. This comes after Walmart said it had hired about 75 percent of the participants from its program, which is aimed at tech professionals who want to return to the workforce after taking time off. The idea is to increase diversity and find new sources of talent in a tight market.
The four-month, paid program is designed for professionals with at least five years of experience who have been out of the workforce taking care of children or elderly parents or for other personal reasons – a group that typically includes more women than men.
