Target Introduces Wage Increase, Paid Leave Program

Target is temporarily increasing its wages by $2 an hour, as well as offering paid leave for up to 30 days to employees who are older, pregnant, or have underlying medical conditions. Amid “incredible” demand, Target is reducing store hours to give employees more time for cleaning and restocking. CEO Brian Cornell expressed the company’s commitment to serving its customers and employees during the global health crisis.

“Families across the country are counting on Target in so many ways during this pandemic, and our team has been nothing short of remarkable,” Cornell said. “The commitments we’re making today will provide additional resources for our most valuable asset – our team, their families and the communities impacted by the coronavirus.”
