Sears Announces 100 More Store Closings

Transformco, the entity responsible for rebuilding Sears after its bankruptcy, recently announced the upcoming closure of 100 Sears and Kmart stores in December. This comes after the announcement of the closure of 26 stores in October. In a statement, the company defined its goal: returning Sears to profitability and preserving jobs wherever possible.

“As we continue our transformation efforts, we are working closely with our stakeholders, and evaluating our network of stores, operations and business strategy in order to stabilize the business and support a long-term path to profitable success,” Transformco said in a statement to USA TODAY Friday.
