Nordstrom Takes a Page Out of Kohl’s Playbook, Will Accept Rival Retailers’ Online Order Returns

Kohl’s began accepting Amazon returns in all its stores in July, and the program caused a spike in foot traffic. Now, Nordstrom is hoping for a similar result.

The retailer will allow customers to return online orders from rival retailers such as Macy’s and Kohl’s to its new small-format stores in New York City. These new stores will also feature shoe repair, stroller-cleaning, and charity drop-off services.

Returns can be a pain point for both the customer and retailer, and shoppers want a convenient way to drop off unwanted items, said Jamie Nordstrom, president of Nordstrom stores.
