Lowe’s Has 53,000 Spots to Fill Heading Into Its Busiest Season

Lowe’s sees the biggest crowds in its spring season, and it is hiring accordingly. This year, the home improvement retailer is looking to hire 53,000 employees for both part-time and full-time jobs. Last year, Lowe’s aimed to add 65,000 employees, most of them seasonal. In 2019, about half of its seasonal hires went on to take more permanent positions.

Lowe’s in 2019 pivoted its focus for new hires toward filling additional tech-related jobs. CEO Marvin Ellison, who joined Lowe’s from J.C. Penney in 2018, called that out as one of the company’s weaknesses. Ellison has also been trying to cut costs at Lowe’s.
