Low-Income Shoppers Are More Likely to Shop Dollar General Than Walmart
Dollar stores are stepping up their game, expanding digital capabilities, revamping stores, and opening more. And a recent study shows that in the battle for the business of low-income shoppers, dollar stores are winning – at least, a couple of them.
Marketing platform InMarket showed in a study that consumers from low-income households are more likely to shop at Family Dollar and Dollar General than at Walmart.
For this report, “low income” was defined as a household bringing in $0 to $44,999 in income. The results were obtained by measuring location data from 50 million mobile devices.
