Lego Plans a 210-Store Global Expansion

The Lego Group recently announced that it is expanding its global presence with 140 new stores in China and 70 more outside that country. It has its sights set on India in particular, where a growing middle class and economy have opened the door wide. The ultimate goal, according to CEO Niels B. Christiansen, is to reach more children, giving them the opportunity to “learn through play.”

Including the stores that Lego has plans to open this year, the company will have nearly 600 stores around the world. The company has 91 stores in the U.S., according to its website.
