Kind Bar and Clif Bar Take Their “Food Fight” Online
Clif Bar and Kind Bar are in the middle of a virtual food fight. The battle began earlier this week when Clif Bar took out a full-page advertisement in the New York Times and challenged Kind Bar to transition to using organic ingredients in its products. Kind Bar responded to the advertisement on Twitter, but instead of engaging Clif’s proposition, Kind took a dig at Clif’s ingredients. Kind’s CEO has invited Clif to meet about the company’s sugar content and organic supplies.
“Maybe a move to organic would even inspire your part-owner Mars to take its entire line of candy organic,” the letter reads. “Stranger things have happened.”
