J.Crew Is Hoping Women’s Designer Chris Benz Can Save It

J.Crew is hoping to revitalize its brand, and it’s doing so by replacing its chief design officer less than a year after she joined. Johanna Uurasjarvi has left the brand and will be replaced by Chris Benz, who will head women’s design and the crewcuts kid’s division.

The announcement marks a homecoming of sorts for Benz, who worked on the women’s design team from January 2005 to July 2006 under former creative director Jenna Lyons.
