Italy to Investigate Amazon for Possible Market Position Abuse
Italy’s authority on business competition announced Tuesday it would begin investigating Amazon to decide whether the e-commerce giant abused its dominance online and in logistic services.
The authority said it would be looking into whether Amazon granted more favorable status to third-party vendors that participated in Amazon’s logistics services compared to those who didn’t use Amazon’s services.
Amazon is facing increasing regulatory scrutiny around the world over its dominance in the online shopping and search markets.
