Advocacy Group Sues Walmart Over Homeopathic Marketing
The Center for Inquiry, a nonprofit advocacy group, filed suit against Walmart on accusations of widespread fraud and risk of customers’ health. The lawsuit accused the retailer of not drawing a sharp enough distinction between homeopathic treatments and traditional medicine. It’s similar to a lawsuit the group filed last year against CVS Health.
“Searches on its website for cold and flu remedies or teething products for infants yield pages full of homeopathic junk products. It’s an incredible betrayal of customers’ trust and an abuse of Walmart’s titanic retail power.”
