Gap Plans Its Reopening Strategy

Gap has a plan to reopen 800 stores by the end of May. Though CEO Sonia Syngal made it clear that the plan is subject to the dictates of the local authorities, she outlined a “responsibly aggressive” strategy for moving forward. It includes the temporary closing of fitting rooms and restrooms, hand sanitizer stations at front doors and checkouts, employees in face masks, and quarantined returns.

“Our goal is to be responsibly aggressive,” Gap Inc. CEO Sonia Syngal told The New York Times. “Every retailer will have its own opening strategy, but suffice it to say we are looking to open where we’re legally allowed to open as soon as we can.”
