FedEx Office Bots Deliver Pizzas, Groceries, Even Soup to the Sick

FedEx Office is adding robots to its North Texas locations. Starting this July, FedEx Office will use robots, called “same-day bots”, in Plano and Frisco to deliver pizza, groceries, and even prescriptions or a cup of soup to a sick person’s home. They’ll be hitting the sidewalks and roadsides of both cities as well as parent FedEx’s home base of Memphis.

For Plano-based FedEx Office, the bots represent a large untapped business opportunity. FedEx Office, which was formerly Kinko’s, has more than 1,500 employees in Plano. It has about 1,900 locations and 15,000 employees in the U.S.
