FedEx Ends Another Contract with Amazon, This Time for Ground Delivery
FedEx and Amazon are parting ways again. This time, FedEx is ending its ground-delivery contract with the online retailer. This comes after the delivery services company ended its express contract with Amazon, which covered air shipping.
Amazon has been increasing and improving its own logistics network. In June, the same month FedEx ended the express contract, Amazon launched its Delivery Services Partners program, in which entrepreneurs set up their own local delivery businesses to deliver packages from Amazon.
“We are constantly innovating to improve the carrier experience and sometimes that means reevaluating our carrier relationships,” an Amazon spokesperson said. “FedEx has been a great partner over the years and we appreciate all their work delivering packages to our customers.”
