Dollar General Is Preparing a Buy Online Pick Up In-Store Feature

Dollar General is working to expand its digital capabilities with a model many other retailers have found success with: buy online, pick up in store, or BOPIS.

About 45% of Dollar General’s customers use digital tools when they shop, whether Dollar General’s or another retailer’s. Younger shoppers in particular are adopting the practice, which allows them to browse and buy at leisure and then pick up their purchases in stores.

Chief Information Officer Carman Wenkoff said in reference to purchasing online and picking up in-store, according to the report, “We’ve always tried to be at the leading edge of value and convenience, and we hear our customers talking about this a lot.”
