Best Buy is allowing only employees into its stores, offering a system of curbside pickup for customers who place their orders from home. Furthermore, large orders such as refrigerators or TVs will be delivered to customers’ doorsteps and no further. Best Buy employees will not set foot inside customers’ houses.

Employees still working in Best Buy stores work “on a voluntary basis,” according to the company. The retailer is offering paid time off to anyone who feels ill or who has been exposed to the coronavirus, as well as to those whose hours have been eliminated.

The company says it’s made some adjustments to compensate employees who continue to come in to work, and anyone whose hours are eliminated by the new restrictions “will be paid for two weeks at their normal wage rate based on their average hours worked over the last 10 weeks.”
