Bentonville, Home to Walmart, Has Transformed Into a Tech Hub
Walmart’s hometown has quietly morphed into a technology hub for tech workers and young professionals. The Northwest Arkansas metro is one of the fastest growing in the nation, and the region is seeing engineers, accountants, lawyers, and marketing professionals entering the area at a rapid pace.
The influx of STEM-based professionals hasn’t gone unnoticed by employers such as Walmart.
Walmart CEO Doug McMillion has made it clear to investors that he wants Walmart to think like a tech company. Walmart has invested billions in building out an e-commerce infrastructure and is hiring for supply chain, data analytics, software engineering, product development and IT jobs in Bentonville.
