Bed Bath & Beyond Will Close 60 Stores, Up from 40

Bed Bath & Beyond has announced that it is increasing the number of store closures from 40 to 60. CEO Mary Winston called it “fleet optimization,” referring to the better balance that would be achieved between the chain’s physical and digital presence. Most of the stores are slated for closure in early 2020, after the holiday shopping season.
