Bed Bath & Beyond Closes “Non-Essential” Stores

In response to the coronavirus outbreak and the recommended measure of social distancing, Bed Bath & Beyond is closing more than half its stores – about 800. Around 700 stores, however, will remain open, because they carry essential goods such as healthcare, personal care, and infant care products, as well as cleaning supplies and food and beverages.

CEO Mark Tritton said in a statement the company “will continue to adapt and be responsive as our customer needs change, and in line with public health guidance and regulations.”
