As Anti-Amazon Sentiment Grows, Brands Migrate to Walmart
A recent study from First Insight shows that consumers are beginning to feel differently about Amazon, with the percentage of shoppers who favor Amazon dropping to 45% from 53%. As anti-Amazon sentiment continues to grow, brands are taking notice and beginning to search for an alternative marketplace. Increasingly, that alternative is Walmart. Walmart has been investing aggressively in its online business, positioning itself to compete more and more effectively with Amazon.
While shoppers slowly start to explore non-Amazon channels, many brands have been eagerly awaiting a viable competitor to Amazon. A survey by retail publication Modern Retail found that 41% of brands and retailers say Amazon isn’t a trustworthy partner.
