Apple Adds Name to List of Firms Pledging Millions to Rebuild Notre Dame

Apple CEO Tim Cook tweeted Tuesday morning that the tech giant would be donating to help in the efforts to rebuild Notre Dame, which was damaged by a fire on Monday.

Apple joins a long list of donors, including L’Oreal, LVMH, and Kering, which have pledged millions of euros to rebuild the iconic French cathedral. Francois-Henri Pinault pledged €100 million (about $113 million) to the rebuilding effort.

“This tragedy is striking all the French people, and beyond that, all those attached to spiritual values. Faced with this tragedy, everyone wishes to give life back to this jewel of our heritage as soon as possible,” Pinault, chair of Artemis said in a statement.
