Anti-Amazon Sentiment Is Building
Amazon has a PR problem. Amid scrutiny from the federal government and a growing movement with the sole purpose of “stopping” Amazon, the online retailer is conducting damage control on multiple fronts. For one, its growing market dominance has attracted the attention of regulators, who are investigating Amazon’s business practices. In addition, criticism of Amazon’s workplace environment is intensifying in the media. Meanwhile, the e-commerce giant is dealing with problems stemming from the massive scope of its ambitions: rampant counterfeiting on its site, and issues with its delivery service.
As Amazon ramps up to its holiday “peak,” scrutiny and criticism of the company is becoming more strategic, widespread and coordinated.
