Amazon’s Alexa Comes to Brazil

Amazon is launching its virtual assistant Alexa in Brazil, Latin America’s largest economy, just weeks after introducing Prime to that country. Amazon plans to offer three Alexa-enabled devices for sale: Echo Dot, Echo Show 5, and Amazon Eco.

“This is a particularly exciting moment for Amazon in Brazil,” Amazon’s international director for Alexa, Michele Butti, told journalists on Wednesday, adding the company has hired a local team to adapt Alexa to Portuguese language.
