Amazon Redirects Users in UAE to Its Own Site

Amazon purchased for $580 million in 2017, but the popular regional e-commerce platform remained as is. That is, until April 30. After announcing in January it would launch a new site for countries such as United Arab Emirates, it did just that, and redirected users to it.

Souq users in the UAE are now automatically redirected to, and will have access to products sold by Amazon in the United States, as well as more payment options, according to a statement from Souq founder Ronaldo Mouchawar.
