Amazon is introducing its first e-reader for kids, called Kindle Kids Edition. It comes bundled with a case, one year free of FreeTime Unlimited, and a two-year replacement guarantee. Its software is designed with kids in mind, including features such as achievement badges and a vocabulary builder, which turns words kids look up in the built-in Kindle dictionary into flashcards for later review.

Amazon describes FreeTime Unlimited as “an all-in-one subscription that gives kids access to thousands of kid-friendly books, movies, TV shows, educational apps, Audible books, and games on compatible Fire, Android, iOS and Kindle devices.”
