Amazon Go Tech Could Reportedly Soon Be Seen in Airports, Movie Theaters

According to a report by CNBC, Amazon is in talks to expand the use of its Go technology to venues beyond its Go stores. CIBO Express locations in airports and Regal Cinemas theaters could one day put Amazon’s cashierless technology to use, according to the report’s sources. Even the concession stands at baseball stadiums could be included in the online retailer’s plans for Go, beyond the thousands of branded stores it has planned.

Amazon declined to comment on the “rumors and speculation.”

As it slowly rolls out new Amazon Go locations in Seattle and other cities, Amazon is reportedly eyeing other ways to get people to experience its cashierless technology, possibly through third-party licensing and implementation at airports, movie theaters and maybe even baseball stadiums.
