Amazon Fights Back Against Antitrust Investigation in India

Amazon is fighting back against an antitrust investigation launched in India, calling the allegations baseless and citing the enormous damage they could cause to its reputation. The New Delhi-based trader group that prompted the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to order the investigation claims Amazon and Walmart-owned Flipkart are violating Indian law.

“The entire order passed by (the CCI) … is bereft of any foundation,” Amazon said in a Feb. 10 filing to a court in the city of Bengaluru, rejecting the allegations leveled against the company.
