Amazon Adds Emotions to Alexa’s Voice

digital assistantAmazon has taken notice of research showing that people vastly prefer human voices to robotic ones, and that they are more likely to remember information when it is delivered in a human voice.

Now, Amazon has debuted a more emotional Alexa, who can deliver answers and results in excited or disappointed voices. As voice assistants become mainstream, it is touches like these that become even more important.

The research suggests that making voice assistants sound more human is crucial if Amazon, as well as competitors Google and Apple, want to become more integrated into people’s homes.
