7-Eleven Is Adding Beer Delivery to 18 Markets
7-Eleven is testing out a service that puts an about-face on the beer run — now, it runs to you. The convenience store chain is testing beer and cider delivery services in 18 select markets, including Austin, Texas; Dallas-Fort Worth; Chicago; Phoenix, St. Louis and Seattle-Tacoma. The company will deliver a vast array of beers and ciders, but no wine for now.
7-Eleven is the biggest company to enter the beer delivery marketplace. Several apps, such as Drizly and Saucey, already offer the service, but could face considerable pressure if the chain expands the program to a wider footprint.
